a passage of time:
conventionally time is imagined as a linear progression. events happen, new ideas are created, are considered to accrete over time and then consolidated opinions are formed on everything. we are indeed used to the concept of progress in history. but what of the non-linear aspect of time?
things that happen, never to happen again, and that are eventually forgotten. something drops out from the chart of history over time, so to speak. for life may be imagined as a zero sum game, what is gained is only to be replaced by something else.
time opens one door, explores a passage, and then retreats and the door closes behind.
